- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Assembly:
- 12 King’s Hawaiian Original Sheet Rolls (or 1 French baguette)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Chopped parsley and chili flakes for serving
Instructions
Roast the Garlic:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Toss peeled garlic cloves with olive oil and salt.
- Place in a covered oven-safe dish or foil pouch.
- Roast ~20 minutes until soft and golden. Mash with fork and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Custard:
- Whisk together mashed garlic, melted butter, egg, milk, salt, paprika, and parsley in a bowl until smooth.
Assemble the Bread:
- Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- Halve the sheet rolls horizontally and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.
- Dip each half into the garlic butter custard, coating all sides well.
- Return bread to baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
- Sprinkle mozzarella on top and broil for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and chili flakes. Slice and serve.
